An inscription on the title page indicates that this copy once belonged Brigadier Peter Young, when he was still a Lieutenant Colonel, resident at his parents’ house in Cobham, Surrey. Another inscription on the page indicates that in 1947 he commissioned R.P. North (René Percival North) to translate and colour the book’s illustrations and their captions. Brigadier Young later founded the Sealed Knot Society in England, see Peter Young (historian) - Wikipedia. René North, who was commissioned to colour the illustrations, was a well-known expert on military uniforms, who later published a number of books on that subject.
